W. Joseph Astarita...now we know his name.  This is the man who shot Ryan Bundy.

"It was those shots, allegedly fired by the FBI agent, that Bundy says left the bullet lodged in his shoulder"

THE GRAND JURY CHARGES:

INTRODUCTORY ALLEGATIONS

At all times relevant to this Indictment:

1. Defendant W. JOSEPH ASTARITA was a Special Agent of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), and a member of the FBI’s Hostage Rescue Team (HRT).

2. The FBI had a policy in place requiring that the Bureau’s Shooting Incident

Response Team investigates all agent-involved shooting incidents. Defendant W. JOSEPH ASTARITA was aware of that policy.

3. On January 26, 2016, defendant W. JOSEPH ASTARITA was one of a number of FBI agents assigned to the armed occupation of the Malheur National Wildlife Refuge in Harney

County, Oregon, who were tasked with attempting to apprehend certain members and leaders of the occupation, including Robert La Voy Finnicum and Ryan Bundy, as they traveled from the Malheur National Wildlife Refuge in Grant County, Oregon.

Federal Agent Who Shot at LaVoy Indicted!

"PORTLAND, Ore.— An FBI agent has been indicted on accusations that he lied about firing at a rancher in 2016 when officers arrested leaders of an armed occupation of a federal wildlife refuge in rural Oregon.

Sources familiar with the case say the agent will face allegations of making a false statement with intent to obstruct justice, The Oregonian/OregonLive reported Tuesday."

Nothing yet about investigating the murder or our brother LaVoy, but a step in the right direction nonetheless.

When I met Pete for the first time I wasn’t incredibly impressed. To someone who just arrived, the appearance was that he was hanging around with Idaho III%. I almost completely wrote him off until the next evening when Brandon Curtiss held a “meeting” in his hotel room and Pete and I were shoulder to shoulder at the door. It was then that I noticed that he was not your typical fair weather patriot. As Curtiss and Aggresta pumped out the most oxymoronic statements known to man and attempted to tie in the unlawful detention of the Hammonds to self-imagined Islamic terror in Idaho, Pete rolled his eyes and turned his camera back on, obviously wanting to capture the idiocy on display. (He obviously had as big of an issue with the “clearing” of Kalashnikov styled weapons as I did, since none of these so called militia knew how to actually put their rifles on Safe and swept the entire room with hot weapons as they set them against the wall.) I wasn’t completely sold on him but made a mental note to refrain from judging others until I had observed them for more than a few moments. Later on, I asked him what exactly was going on at the Refuge and he told me that the only way to find out was to go and see for myself.

His style is obviously much different than any other reporter I’ve ever encountered. While others live inside their tablets and phones, Pete holds his out at an arm’s length on a pole and records arguably the most dangerous situations that have unfolded in recent US history. While others spit out party lines and pre-drawn conclusions and attempt to twist the responses of their targets, Pete speaks only the truth. But more importantly, he speaks the truth bluntly with no fear.  When others feared entering the Refuge, he walked in boldly and said his piece. He was taken prisoner while directly engaging the FBI after the assassination of our brother LaVoy. True to form, he is unrepentant of offenses he did not commit and stands his ground to this day.

Perhaps the biggest travesty in all this is the federal government's blatant flaunting of contempt for the First Amendment. Regardless of what name a media outlet incorporates under, the honest reporter is a rare breed. At nearly every outlet, fear, hate and lies are propagated under the guise of Patriotism. Pete has exemplified the meaning of Freedom Of Expression under the Constitution as intended by our Founding Fathers. With any luck, he will soon be free to expose the truth once again.

Drama? What's that? Support the P3s!

In the age of Facebook we have pissing matches galore.  Everybody is a somebody when social media is involved.  Everything is trending and we all have terminal ADHD.  Or maybe not all of us.  It's funny, infuriating, probably psychotic, and it needs to stop.  We are all guilty to a certain degree, myself included.  But, seriously, it needs to stop.

Got a problem with something somebody said?  Suck it up and support our P3s!  Somebody call you a fed (but you say you aren't, or maybe you're just a lowly informant) and now you're super pissed?  Suck it up and support our P3s!  (Feds too.  Donate.  Or set off some CS canisters and off yourself.  Both work.  You choose!)

If everyone worked together then there wouldn't be time for all this petty drama and the attention would be exactly where it should have been all along.

Here's a name you don't hear every day.

RYAN PAYNE

This man is facing 12 years for standing up for YOU.  Although the FBI admits that they sent  Fabulous Fabio to "train" us to stack up behind vehicles, not observe proper spacing and point our weapons where they shouldn't be (he pointed his rifle at the drone a few times) and that it is a crime to do so, Ryan is being crucified for allegedly leading a training exercise under that same guise.

He took lives for you in Iraq so that you may be safe.  He gave up his freedom for you at home so that you might have a chance at real LIBERTY.

So let's write him a letter or two!  Time stands still for those in prison.  Let's help him through it.
